Scope of Work:
Precise positioning of the star projector in a planetarium is essential. A two stage lift with 11 feet of travel and a 20,000 lb. capacity was provided to raise the star projector from under the floor to its working position. The lift uses ball screws and precision linear guides to achieve a position precision of ± 0.02".
Safety features include dead-man push buttons for lift controls, door and railing interlocks, and astragal pressure tape switches at all shear points.
