Project Description:
Barbizon Capitol contacted J.R. Clancy on a challenging design – the user needed to raise and lower a 40' wide by 22' tall media screen weighing 22,000 pounds from the glass roofed lobby of the museum! Mounting a hoist on the glass roof was impractical, so a self climbing hoist was designed to lift 34,000 lbs – the weight of the screen and hoist. A double motor design was used for redundancy and safety.
