Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

Kansas City, Missouri

Project Description:

In 2011, J.R. Clancy accepted the challenge of equipping two performance halls simultaneously at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Muriel Kauffman Theatre, an 1,800-seat proscenium theatre, is the home to the Kansas City Ballet, Lyric Opera of Kansas City and hosts Broadway productions, and entertainers from around the world. With the wide variety of performances, Kauffam Theatre required ease of adaptability. J.R. Clancy provided 70 counterweight sets with a loading gallery, a steel-framed fire curtain, house curtain with a custom hoist, and a SceneControl pendant for the installed acoustic banners.
