Reynolds Hall, Smith Center for the Performing Arts

Las Vegas, Nevada

Project Description:

Reynolds Hall is the centerpiece of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Las Vegas. The 2,050-seat multipurpose hall presents a variety of performances each year including the Las Vegas Philharmonic, Broadway productions and contemporary entertainment. The unique feature of Reynolds Hall is the orchestra shell ceiling that is hinged to the ceiling and the hinge travels up and down the back wall for use and storage. Fisher Dachs Associates, the theatre consultancy for the project, contacted J.R. Clancy to install the hinged, orchestra shell ceiling for the project. J.R. Clancy also provided 89, one-ton rated counterweight line sets for Reynolds Hall to ensure it was equipped to handle a wide variety of performances.
